Giving Something Back
Artists on Safari endeavours to follow eco-tourism guidelines in its choice of lodges and camps and in its operation.  Almost all of your accommodation supports or runs its own foundations, initiatives or projects to support the local people, economy and environment.

When you book an art safari with us your money will directly help these projects, as well as continuing to help support the local economy and the employment prospects of local people whether they work as staff at camps or lodges or as drivers and guides. The local Maasai people are also paid fairly for our portrait sessions (organised directly by the Director of one of our camps, himself of Maasai descent) and you may also wish to purchase local handicrafts from the villagers.

We are involved in several community and conservation projects and particularly support the work at Whistling Thorn Camp, Manyara Ranch Conservancy and Hatari Lodge.
